Tucked away in the depths of a hemlock forest in Quebec, Canada, is ‘FAHOUSE’: A black prism-shaped cottage designed by Jean Verville.
Conceived for a young family of four, the building appears as an archetypal children’s drawing: Two simple prism shapes arising from the earth as the trees surrounding them. “The living area enjoys glass walls, which seem to dematerialize and eliminate the boundary between architecture and landscape, allowing nature to fabulously slip inside,” explains the architect. “Already the house comes to life and the magic of the place operates.”“The house comes to life and the magic of the place operates.”
